In a major military parade held in Pyongyang for leader Kim Jong Un and visiting delegations from China and Russia, among the weapons on display were new attack drones and nuclear-capable missiles, according to North Korean official media on Friday.

On Thursday evening, the much-anticipated parade was held to mark the 70th anniversary of the conclusion of the Korean War, known in North Korea as "Victory Day."

The delegations from China and Russia, which included Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, were the country's first foreign visits since the COVID-19 outbreak started.

In contrast to previous years, when Beijing and Moscow took steps to distance themselves from their neighbor's development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, their attendance at events with the North's nuclear missiles, which were banned by the United Nations Security Council with China's and Russia's support, was notable.
