Elon Musk formally changed Twitter's name to X, putting an end to the blue bird era and ushering in a new one. The world's richest man's obsession with the letter X is evident in this action. Additionally, it is an extension of the actions he has already taken to realize this ambition. His other business, Tesla, released vehicles in recent years to round out the "SEXY" lineup. However, according to Mr. Musk, the entry-level sedan's renaming from Model E to 3 transformed it to "S3XY".
The X identity was created when he built an online banking services platform named X.com, which ultimately became a part of PayPal, according to a few tweets that became viral after Twitter's rename. Mr. Musk left with $165 million and the ambition to expand the X brand.
He founded Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, popularly known as SpaceX, as a result of this preoccupation. Several social media users claimed that the X in the name stood for the trajectory of a rocket.
Then he imagined a lineup of vehicles with model names that spelled out "SEXY." So Mr. Musk's electric vehicle company, Tesla, began selling the Model S, followed by the Model X and Y.
But according to a previous USA Today article, Ford had already secured the rights to the Model E, which sounded just like Henry Ford's famous Model T.
The business also disclosed to the US newspaper that Tesla had signed a contract in 2010 under which it "agreed not to register or use Model E, among other things." Ford requested that Tesla abide by their earlier agreement when Tesla eventually tried to register the Model E trademark.
Model 3 was supposed to be called Model E, for apparent dumb humor reasons, but Ford sued to ban it, so instead it is S3X, Mr. Musk tweeted when the car made its US debut in July 2017. Completely different:)"
There is conjecture that Tesla would abandon the "Model" plus "letter" naming strategy once the "S3XY" line-up is complete. The final model to launch was Model Y in 2020.
